In memory of Andy Evans, our Trustee and Head Teacher at Great Oaks School, who sadly passed away earlier this year, we are honoured to offer a Tutor Training Scholarship in his name. Through this scholarship, we hope to recognise Andy’s contribution to Signalong and his commitment to supporting communication and inclusion.
About the Scholarship
The scholarship will provide one person with a free place on our upcoming Tutor Training course, taking place 10–13 November 2026, online via Zoom.
Tutor Training is a four-day course designed to develop the skills and vocabulary needed to deliver Signalong courses. It is suitable for people with experience of sign-supported communication who would like to develop their skills and go on to train others. During the four-day course, Signalong methodology is explored, elements of language development are discussed and participants have the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of teaching techniques and theory by preparing and delivering several presentations.
The course focuses on developing the skills and confidence needed to access, understand and perform Signalong’s wider vocabulary, as well as supporting others to learn and use Signalong effectively.
