Signalong provides training and resources to assist those with communication difficulties and English as an additional language.
Signalong is a key word sign-supported communication system based on British sign language and is used in spoken word order. It uses speech, sign, body language, facial expression and voice tone to reference the link between sign and word.

Unlike British Sign Language training or that provided by some other organisations, Signalong training focuses on developing communication skills rather than teaching blocks of signs, many of which will be quickly forgotten through lack of use.
Tutor Training is for those with experience of sign-supported communication who wish to train others. The tutor training course is a comprehensive 4/5 day programme for people who have experienced of signing in the context of learning difficulties, autism or the particular field in which they need to use augmentative communication.
Signalong externally accredits Signalong for Learner’s courses which are mapped to the Speech Language and Communication Needs Framework (SLCF). The Framework sets out the key skills and knowledge needed to support speech language and communication development. For more information Click here.
